Joint Press release.
The Society of British Jewellers and TJA-Connect team up to launch #supportthejewellerytrade to help the trade with Coronavirus.
Events that bring suppliers and retailers together are very important within the jewellery trade, but with the outbreak of the coronavirus progressing worldwide major B2B events are being cancelled or postponed, which will come at a cost and possibly have a lasting impact on revenue and sales within the industry, especially for suppliers and trade shows.
The Society of British Jewellers (TSOBJ) and TJA-Connect have pooled resources and teamed up to make a call-to-action to the trade to come together to help by backing an initiative – ‘#supportthejewellerytrade’ – which will give online visibility to all suppliers and service providers through one trade drive.
The importance of ‘touch and feel’ and face-to-face meetings between retailers and suppliers as part of the buying process is fundamental in decision-making within the trade, so not being able to meet will cause problems throughout the industry.
Michelle and Daren Daniels, the Co-Founders of TJA-Connect explain: “We need to pull together as an industry and do it now. We see a lot messages about how this virus is going to affect business, but nothing that is helping support businesses, so we decided to do something about it, and teamed up with with The Society of British Jewellers”.
With a possible financial impact on businesses in the jewellery supply chain #supportthejewellerytrade is about giving all suppliers a way of promoting their offers and deals to retailers that they might have offered at a trade show. The call-to-action is to all trade organisations and influencers to work together and help promote the deals from suppliers and spread the message about this initiative.
TJA-Connect has a free-level business listing which was due to end, but it is now extending this and also upgrading all levels with an additional free listing for offers/deals/promotions which will be displayed on a new page to highlight these offers of support to the trade. In addition it will be marketed via email and social media via both the TSOBJ and TJA-Connect network.
TJA-Connect teaming up with TSOBJ means they will reach over 8,000 business, mostly in the UK, and so are asking for trade organisations to share this trade initiative and join the campaign to reach many more businesses.
Ben Poulsom, founder of TSOBJ adds: “The Society of British Jewellers is here to help spread awareness of independent jewellers, makers and designers to the public. As well a vital ideas and news network via our Facebook groups, we are teaming up with TJA-Connect to help jewellers in Britain in anyway as possible as it is vitally important to pull together and help each other out wherever it is possible!“
