TJA-Connect’s joint trade initiative with The Society of British Jewellers (SBJ) #supportthejewellerytrade is now turning its attention to bringing the trade together, uniting to raise money for the NHS and its workers who have risked their lives for us all fighting COVID-19.
The trade initiative which has gained over 50 supporters from all areas of the jewellery trade, individuals and businesses, is now looking for donations of jewellery and watches – from suppliers and retailers – to raise money for NHS staff, volunteers and patients impacted by the COVID-19 crisis.
The idea is simple: a series of Facebook competitions will be run consecutively over the coming months, to increase more and more consumer awareness that the jewellery trade is united in supporting and raising money for the NHS front line workers. The competitions will run as a campaign asking consumers for a minimum £1.00 donation via Virgin Money Giving for entry to each competition. Only consumers who have donated for a particular product campaign will be entered into the draw to win.
Ben Poulsom, founder of the Society of British Jewellers, says: “We’re very pleased to be a part of this! Hopefully many jewellery makers will donate items to be won to raise money for the amazing NHS! Please dig deep and donate because as well as helping fundraise you might also win some amazing jewellery!“
The organisers – Ben Poulsom, Max Ginsburg from 21st Deco and TJA-Connect’s Daren and Michelle Daniels – are hoping to have lots of products donated to raise as much money as possible for such a worthy cause.
“This is a really exciting part of the #supportthejewellerytrade initiative. We see and read so much negative news that we thought the jewellery trade should be doing something positive. We are very conscious of the struggles that businesses have just now, but this is a truly resilient and great industry, which is why we hope everyone will donate just one product for the NHS campaign,” say Daren and Michelle Daniels.
